Finished before the congregation arrives

A house of worship has its own rhythm. The week builds toward one or two main gatherings, with choir practice, study groups, youth nights and committee meetings filling the evenings in between. Our visits follow that calendar, so the last pass through the sanctuary wraps up the day before your main service and the building feels cared for when the first family walks through the door.

Staff offices keep weekday hours, and some rooms are in use almost every night. We plan each visit room by room around the schedule your administrator shares, and move a visit when a holiday, a wedding or a special service changes the week.

Tell us who holds the keys, how the alarm is armed and which doors must stay locked, and the crew follows those steps on every visit. Rooms that are off limits on a given night simply wait for the next one.

The sanctuary, pews and entry

Each pew gets a dry dusting and then a damp wipe: the top rail people grab when they stand, the seat, the end panel and the hymnal rack. Where the congregation sits on chairs, each one is wiped and squared back into its row. Kneelers, railings and the front edge of the platform are included. Carpet down the center and side aisles is vacuumed wall to wall, while wood or tile floors get a dry pass to lift grit and a damp pass to bring back their shine.

In the narthex or front lobby, the glass doors, the welcome table, the coat area and the bulletin racks are cleaned, and the entry mats are vacuumed. At the walkthrough your team shows us the altar furnishings and sacred objects that only clergy or volunteers handle, and the crew cleans around them with care.

Fellowship halls and event cleanup

A fellowship hall rarely gets a quiet week. Banquet tables get their tops and rims wiped, chairs are wiped and stacked on their carts, and the floor is swept and then mopped. Bags of trash and recycling are carried out to the enclosure. In the kitchen, the crew wipes the counters, sinks, serving window and the fronts of the refrigerators and ovens, then scrubs the floor.

After a wedding reception, a memorial gathering, a holiday dinner or a community meal, a one-time visit resets the hall so the next group finds it ready. Book it alongside your regular service or on its own, whenever the calendar fills up.

Classrooms, nursery and youth rooms

Religious education classrooms, the nursery and the teen lounge deserve the same care as the sanctuary. Little tables and chairs, cubby shelves, sink counters and the handles children reach for are wiped down. Rugs are vacuumed, hard floors mopped and every bin emptied, and soft play mats are wiped so the next class finds a tidy room.

Everyone on the crew that enters your building has passed a background check, an important point for rooms that host children’s programs through the week.

Restrooms, offices and the library

Restrooms are cleaned and disinfected from fixtures to floors, then restocked. Tissue, towels and soap can come from our own janitorial supplies program, or the crew can draw on the boxes your office already buys. The pastor’s study, the church office, the library, the bookstore corner and the stairwells are dusted, vacuumed and emptied on the same route.

Deeper work for floors and grounds

Some work belongs on a longer cycle. Quarterly or twice-yearly extraction through our commercial carpet cleaning lifts ground-in soil from aisles and hallways. A worn finish on the hall’s vinyl tile is stripped off and laid down fresh, and a marble or terrazzo entry can be cleaned and polished. The quiet week before a major holiday is a good time to book it.

Outside, pressure washing clears gum, grime and stains from the front steps, the plaza and the walk from the parking lot, and landscape maintenance keeps the lawn and shrubs trim, so the property looks welcoming from the street.

Oakland’s places of worship

Worship buildings in Oakland come in every shape. There are tall sanctuaries with stained glass, high ceilings and long rows of wood pews, hillside campuses with stairs, parking lots and a school wing, and congregations that meet in converted storefronts, warehouses or office suites. Each one needs a plan built around its rooms, its floors and the way people use it through the week.

Walk the building with us, tell us which rooms see use on which days, and we will send a written quote and a cleaning calendar that fits your services and events.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will the building be clean for our weekend services?

Yes. We set your visit for the evening or the day before your main gathering, so the sanctuary, restrooms and entry are fresh when people arrive.

Can you clean up after a wedding, funeral reception or holiday dinner?

Yes. A one-time visit can be booked after any event to reset the hall, the kitchen and the restrooms, with or without a regular schedule.

How are wood pews and furnishings cleaned?

They are dusted first, then wiped with products suited to the finish, covering the backs, seats, armrests and book racks. Items your clergy handle are left in place.

Do your cleaners go through background checks before working in our classrooms?

Yes. Each person we assign to your building has cleared a background check, and that includes the cleaners who look after the classrooms and the nursery.

Can you take care of the front steps and parking lot too?

Yes. Pressure washing and landscape maintenance can be added to the plan, each on its own schedule, so the outside of the property matches the inside.
