Rooms built at knee height

Everything in a toddler room sits low, and that is where the cleaning has to happen. Crews work through the miniature furniture first: tabletops, chair seats and backs, the cubbies and coat hooks, the bottom shelves of each bookcase and the edges of the art easel. Fingerprints on windows and mirrors are cleaned at the height small hands reach, and the doorframes and cabinet fronts below the counter line get wiped along with the surfaces adults use. Sensory tables, water play bins and the sink in the art corner are scrubbed after paint and play dough days, and trash and recycling from every room goes out.

Toys and learning materials are handled the way your teachers want. Bins your staff set out are wiped with the product your center chooses, and anything that belongs on a shelf is put back on it, so the room is ready for the morning’s first drop-off without a teacher reorganizing it.

Nap rooms and quiet corners

Nap rooms need a gentle routine. Cots and mats can be wiped and stacked the way your staff stores them, the open floor gets a vacuum or a damp mop once they are cleared, and the shelves and window sills around the room are dusted. Soft reading nooks and cushions are vacuumed so crumbs and sand from the play yard do not settle into the fabric. Window blinds that stay drawn at nap time gather dust quickly, so they are wiped slat by slat on a regular rotation.

Small restrooms and changing areas

Pint-size toilets, the low sink row and the step stools in front of it get the same full scrub as any restroom: fixtures, partitions, mirrors, faucets and floors, with special attention to the splash zone around the low sinks. Changing tables and the counters around them are wiped with the product your center specifies, and diaper pails are emptied and given fresh liners.

Dispensers are topped up before the doors open. We can deliver the soap, towels, tissue and liners through our supply service, or the crew can refill from the cabinet your director keeps stocked.

The snack kitchen and the staff side

Snack and lunch prep areas are cleaned once the last plate is put away: counters, sinks and the outside of the refrigerator and microwave wiped, the floor mopped, and food waste bagged and taken out. High chairs and booster seats are wiped from tray to footrest, and the floor under the eating tables gets a second pass, since that is where crumbs and dropped fruit end up.

The front lobby, where parents sign in and wait at pickup, gets its counter, sign-in station and door glass cleaned, and the director’s office and staff room are dusted, emptied and vacuumed. Stroller parking and the cubby wall by the door collect sand and leaves, so the crew sweeps and wipes them on every visit.

After pickup, not during the day

Cleaning begins once the last family has left, so no child is sharing a room with a mop bucket or a cleaning cart. Centers that open early can choose a late-evening visit, and a midday visit from a day porter can freshen the lobby and the adult restrooms without entering classrooms in session. When your center runs a summer program or Saturday care, the schedule shifts to match.

Cleaners assigned to your center are background checked, and a supervisor walks the center on quality inspections to confirm that low surfaces, corners and restrooms were finished properly.

Rugs, floors and the play yard entry

Circle-time rugs and classroom carpet catch spilled juice, glitter and playground sand every day. Carpet extraction deep cleans them on a set interval, and a closure week or holiday break is a good time to scrub vinyl tile and give it fresh finish through our floor care work. Outside, pressure washing clears the entry walk and patio of the grime that otherwise gets carried into the classrooms.

Early learning buildings in Oakland

A program in a converted house needs a careful route through small rooms, where a living room serves as a classroom and the play area is a backyard. A purpose-built center needs a plan that reaches every classroom off one hallway before morning drop-off. Programs in a wing of a community building or on the ground floor of a mixed-use block each get a route drawn around their own layout.

Share your hours, the number of classrooms and any cleaning procedures your director already follows, and we can map out a nightly routine plus the periodic floor and rug work that fits your calendar.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will your crew arrive while children are still here?

No. Visits start after the center closes for the day, so the crew never works in a room with children in it.

What do you use on toys and low tables?

The product your center chooses. Give us your list, and the crew uses it on toys, tables and changing areas, wiping and returning everything to its place.

Are nap cots and mats part of the cleaning?

They can be. The crew wipes each cot or mat, stacks them the way your staff stores them, and cleans the floor underneath.

Can rugs and carpet get a deep clean while we are closed for a holiday?

Yes. Book carpet extraction or tile scrubbing for a closure week, and the rooms have time to dry before children come back.

We share our building with other tenants. Can you clean just our space?

Yes. The route covers only the rooms your center uses, and the crew follows the building’s sign-in and key rules to reach them.
